Starting from Friday 30 March at 18.00 p.m. untill Sunday, April 1, 12.00 a.m., for a total of 42 continuous hours, the foundation of the Citylife tower, designed by Arata Isozaki and Andrea Maffei, has been made through a continuous stream of concrete for a total of 4,260 cubic meters. The supply of concrete is done in three plants close to CityLife, using 30 concrete mixers that follow one after the other, for pouring the concrete foundation slab. It is a special concrete, particularly fluid, which gives the best yield of posing for this type of processing. Previously have been made 62 underpinning concrete poles of more than 30 meters in length and was made the armor of the slab with steel bars, for a total of about 1,200 tons. They are already been laid 630 square meters of formworks and 570 square meters of panels for thermal insulation. The main slab of the tower has a plan dimension of approximately 63×27 m, equivalent to over 5 tennis courts, while the sides of the building measuring 61.50×24 m.
