PALAZZO SISTEMA, MILAN
The project intends above all to create comfortable office spaces, full of natural light and with green spaces that go beyond the classic concept of an office building. The psycho-physical well-being of people must be the first starting point. The circulation was thought very simple and centralized in a single core. People can move around the building easily in a serene and comfortable way. Large greenhouses allow you to live in contact with nature while working. Greenhouses are designed as green oases to become places for socializing with colleagues. The panoramic top floor creates a unique space in the city of Milan, where light, greenery and landscape enter the building to open it up to the urban context.
We wanted to concentrate all the volumes in a single monolithic building to free up large green spaces around it for public use. The architectural choices start from the narrow and elongated shape of the Pirelli skyscraper, a historic Milanese icon, with a similar height and then expand it in order to satisfy the required spaces.
The result is a narrow and long sliver of glass in which the transparency of the volume allows you to see behind through the large greenhouses, a symbol of harmony with the natural environment. The volume tapers upwards to stretch dynamically towards the sky.
